What is Counselling?
We are often too busy to set aside space and time for ourselves even when we have difficulties. Counselling provides this space and time to talk to someone who is more impartial than family or friends. This frequently enables the issue to be unravelled and seen more clearly. There are many overlaps between counselling and psychotherapy. Basically, psychotherapy works at a deeper level and involves a person making changes to their personality.
People attend counselling for many different reasons that broadly fit into home, work or health issues. Sometimes issues in all three areas will bring a person into counselling. This is often seen as a last resort when the problems have deepened. It is better, if possible, to make an appointment before getting desperate.
